IMPORTANT: Students who have attended the 4-hour ACT Crash Course will benefit from attending this ACT Boot Camp. The crash course is not a prerequisite for the boot camp: your student may attend the boot camp without having attended the crash course. In addition to in-depth treatment of English grammar rules (3h 30m), Math theory (6h 30m), Reading and Science techniques and strategy (1h 30m each), and Writing deconstruction (30m), the boot camp provides valuable course materials to every attendee.

Students have attended the ACT boot camp to improve their SAT and PSAT performance as well. Those interested exclusively in PSAT and SAT may visit our PSAT/SAT Events page for announcements about upcoming PSAT/SAT crash courses and boot camps.

Course Materials

  • Proprietary, printed handbook containing detailed test-taking tips by section, English and Math cheat sheets, and English and Math drills with complete, printed solutions
  • Printed course handout
  • Detailed study plan email

Content/Complexity/Pace: For each of the 5 ACT sections, the boot camp will first review the necessary theory and strategies in detail and then work out and discuss a number of official ACT questions, from simple to complex, in a timed setting. This is a fast-paced, rigorous, intensive, and immersive boot camp.

Important Notes: Scores will not improve merely because a student attends the boot camp. Students are expected to practice what they have learned, thoroughly memorize the cheat sheets, complete the assigned homework, and attempt practice tests under timed conditions to see a score improvement. Success on the test is entirely about hard work. The boot camp gives students and parents the tools and the glide path to the target score, but it is the student's focused practice and relentless work that will cause the ascent to the target score. Parents are strongly encouraged to have a conversation about the student's commitment to the work involved and their own expectations before registering for the boot camp. While students who complete the assigned work can benefit from attending the boot camp closest to their target test date, a longer window between the boot camp and the test date is strongly recommended, especially during the busy school year. Ideally, parents and students should plan on a 6-8-week window between the boot camp and the test date during the school year so that students have adequate time to master the content and strategies as well as internalize the techniques taught at the boot camp.
